Commercial data transfers between UK and EU and the adequacy decision

This event is now finished!

The first workshop, led by Dr Edina Harbinja and co-hosted by Aston University and the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, the information Law and Policy Centre, will take place on 22 April 2021. The event focuses on commercial data transfers between the UK and the RoI (and the EU more widely) in the post-Brexit era. The workshop will assess challenges that a data protection adequacy decision or an agreement with the EU will pose to data flows and digital economies of these countries. It is not yet known what the data protection landscape will look like after Brexit, but many challenges have already been identified in the areas of enforcement, applicable rules, and public security.
